Ralph Hasenohr is a restless artist who works in many different fields. His creativity takes him from photo art to design, painting, film making and writing. Born in the Black Forest, he went to film school in Zurich, worked for over ten years as a creative director at international advertising agencies in Frankfurt before leaving for two years to Rome. Ralph now lives and works in Frankfurt.
In his work as a photo artist, Ralph continues to travel. The way he shoots builds a relationship with the place he captures. The mood of each trip is framed by a specific color filter he selects in advance. His unique view at subjects create a very close, almost intimate atmosphere. Ralph’s carefully considered compositions create a grand vision that offers a touching glimpse of stories, desires and dreams.

Objects, skies, houses, buildings, pools, streets, beaches…. Places that tell stories in the absence of the people who have been there before. The photos gather in themselves a moment that goes far beyond the subject of the picture – the whole city, the whole day, the background noise of the whole journey.
“The relationship that I build with a place comes from my past, my wishes and dreams. A little star made of glitter that a clown lost on the sidewalk just a moment ago, or the contrail in the sky above a pool in the Hollywood Hills that is only recognizable at second glance, traces that people leave behind on their way, their journey – and so also on mine.”
Time plays a very crucial factor in his work, synchronizing one’s own pulse with that of the place – in both directions. Time has stopped for the moment of the shot and that is stated in the title of each photography. Like the birth time of a moment that keeps traveling in each viewer.
